The Payment app does not have to be green. You can paint the whole app in your own brand color, pull that color straight from your Stripe account, or strip the color out entirely for a clean black and white look. It takes about ten seconds, and it works the same way on iPhone, iPad, Android and the Stripe card readers that run the app.

When the app sits on a counter facing your customers all day, it is part of your storefront. A coffee shop with a red logo probably does not want a bright green screen next to the register.

### How do I use the color from my Stripe account?

Stripe keeps a brand color for your business in the Dashboard under Settings, then Branding. It is the same color Stripe uses on your checkout pages and invoices.

In the app, open Settings and tap Brand color. On iPhone, tap Use Stripe account color. On Android, tap the Stripe brand color option in its own section, just under the preview. The app copies your Stripe color and applies it right away.

This is a copy, not a live link. If you change your color in the Stripe Dashboard later, open Brand color again and tap the Stripe option once more to pick up the new one.

### Can I choose a different color?

Yes, and you do not need to touch Stripe to do it. On the same Brand color screen, iPhone and iPad use Apple's standard color picker, so you can choose from a grid, drag across a spectrum, or type in the exact hex code from your brand guidelines. On Android, you pick from 20 colors laid out as swatches, with a live preview of the charge screen in both light and dark so you can see the result before you commit.

The color carries across the entire app: the charge screen, buttons, menus and the payment sheet your customer sees when they pay with a wallet or another payment method. If you change your mind, Reset to default brings back the original Payment green.

### What if I don't want any color?

Turn on No branding at the top of the Brand color screen. The app drops color altogether and switches to a plain monochrome look, with black accents on a white screen in light mode and white accents on a black screen in dark mode. It suits businesses whose decor would clash with any accent color, and merchants who want the app to get out of the way.

### What happens in dark mode?

The app follows your device's light and dark setting, and your brand color comes along. The charge screen stays in your color in dark mode rather than going black, so your counter looks the same day and night.

Text stays readable automatically. On iPhone, text on your color is white, and where your color is used as text elsewhere, the app adjusts its shade for each mode. On Android, the app builds a set of matching tones from your color, a little lighter in dark mode, and switches text from white to dark when your color is too pale for white to read well.

### Does it work on card readers?

On the Stripe Reader S700 and S710, where the Payment app runs on the reader itself with no phone involved, branding works exactly as it does on an Android phone, No branding included.

When your phone drives a reader with a customer-facing screen, such as the S700 or the BBPOS WisePOS E, that screen shows the cart, tax and total. Your app color does not carry over to it.

### What about my logo on receipts and invoices?

Receipts and invoices are sent by Stripe, so they use the logo and colors in your Stripe Dashboard branding settings rather than the color you pick in the app. Upload your logo there once and it appears on every receipt and invoice the app sends.

### Can I set branding for my team?

If you use [Payment for Enterprise](https://paymentforstripe.com/enterprise?ref=blog.payment.co&utm%5Fsource=blog.payment.co&utm%5Fmedium=referral&utm%5Fcampaign=brand-colors-in-the-payment-app&utm%5Fcontent=inline), you can have every team member's app use your Stripe brand color. Their Brand color setting is then locked, so the app looks the same on every device your team uses.
